Paris, covered by the graceful clouds. Some rays of light have been spilt between the heavy clouds. Like the cloud that descended with the LORD in Exodus 34.5, the goodness of God has been presented with reverence, yet with gentleness.

The LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and

gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping

steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by

no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the

children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.” (ESV, Exodus 34.6–7)

How can a finite being describe or define the infinite God? Who are we, the fallen creation, to create an image of our creator? Are we repeating the error as the ancient world carried the image of deity? The image, ’the essence of the which it represented,’ could not do what deity could do. Still, we are not free from this common error, projecting such images against God. Going back to where the goodness remain, we should plea for the face of the Lord. We can only find our true image when we seek for His glory. Like Moses saying ‘please show me your glory’ (Exodus 33.18). His goodness in cloud might explains how the reflected nature ought to be glowing within us. The very nature of God being proclaimed is indeed part of the graceful clouds that reflects His goodness or/and His beauty.
